The TCSME N-Scale layout is mainly based on parts of Fremont, Union City and Newark. It contains three railroads -- the Southern Pacific, Western Pacific and the fictional short line, Niles Terminal. 

Sections of the layout resemble SP's swing bridges on the San Francisco Bay in Newark, as well as sections of Niles Canyon and the industrial areas of Livermore and Tracy. Pool power and interchange trains are a common sight on the layout.

The layout contains two single-track main lines and many sidings and industrial spurs. It is operated using Digitrax DCC.
