When are you open and what are your hours?

We are currently not open to the public while construction work continues to relocate the depot to Downtown Niles.
 
 

How much does it cost?

Admission to the Niles Depot is always free. We do, however, request a donation of any size, although one is not required. 
 
 

What model railroad scales do you operate?

The TCSME operates both N and HO scale layouts. 
 
 

What are your model railroad standards?

The TCSME has adopted the standards of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA). In addition, the TCSME requires the use of metal wheels and Kadee-type magnetic couplers for HO scale. Both DC and DCC-equipped locomotives are permitted.

Where do I board the train to ride through Niles Canyon?

The train ride through the canyon is operated by the Niles Canyon Railway (PLA), which is not affiliated with the Niles Depot. The boarding station located at 37001 Mission Blvd, Fremont.
